4-H enrollment deadline is January 1

 

New and re-enrolling 4-H members, Cloverbuds and leaders, please remember the enrollment deadline for the 2016-17 4-H year is Jan. 1. Please stop by the Extension Office, behind the courthouse in Lewistown, or call 535-3919.

 

Judge to swear in the County elected officials on Dec. 30

 

The swearing-in ceremony for Fergus County elected officials will be Friday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. in the second-floor lobby area. Judge Mantooth will swear in the newly elected and re-elected individuals from the November general election.

 

 

Ice rink warming house to be open over holidays

 

The Lewistown Ice Skating Association is again coordinating volunteers to keep the rink warming house heated and open over the holidays through Jan. 1.  In addition to a warm place to take the chill off, the group will provide hot chocolate and apple cider though out the day.  

If you are interested in taking a shift  at the warming house, please call Bill Berg at 380-0054. Shifts will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Duties will include; helping kids with their skates, keeping the fire stoked and keeping the warming house in order.

 

First Presbyterian to host free Christmas dinner

 

The First Presbyterian Church will host a free community Christmas dinner on Sunday, Dec. 25 from 12-2 p.m. Delivery to the homebound will also be available. Please call 538-2112 (church kitchen) for information or to request delivery.

 

‘The Wild Life’ to be held by Head Start Friends Dec. 27 and 28

 

On Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Wednesday, Dec. 28, Friends of Head Start will host an early matinee at 11 a.m. at the Judith Theatre. A second matinee will also be offered on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 1:30 p.m. “The Wild Life” is an animated movie about the animal adventures that ensue when Robinson Crusoe’s ship crashes on a deserted island.

Doors open a half hour before the show starts and tickets are available per person with all proceeds benefiting Friends of Head Start.
