Time change for the Conservation District Board meeting

The Fergus Conservation District Board meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Jan. 11 at the USDA Building, 211 McKinley, Suite 3, in Lewistown. This is a time change from the normal meeting schedule.
This meeting is open to the public.

Let’s talk
roundabout on Jan. 18

The Fergus County Commissioners will host a meeting concerning the roundabout at the intersections of Hwy 200, Hwy 87 and Hwy 19 just north of Grass Range, scheduled for bid in the winter/spring of 2017.
Montana Department of Transportation District Administrator Stefan Streeter advised the Fergus County an informational meeting would be fine, as long as those attending understand the project is going to be built.
County officials feel an informational meeting is useful so concerns of the public, local governments and state legislators can be voiced and documented.
The Fergus County Commissioners cordially invite the public to attend this meeting, starting at 7 p.m., on Jan. 18. 2017, at the Lewistown Community Center, 307 West Watson, in Lewistown.

Fibre Arts Guild
to meet on Jan. 12

On Jan. 12 the Central Montana Fibre Arts Guild will meet at Celebration Community Fellowship Church, 361 West Frontage Road on Highway 87. The meeting starts with “Show and Tell” at 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. is the business meeting; and 7:30 p.m. is the program. Crazy Bingo will be played. Bring no more than two wrapped fiber art items to play the game.
At 5 p.m., those who wish to dine may meet at Doc’s local restaurant. Please bring your Christmas tree ornament to exchange with other members, as the Christmas party was cancelled due to the weather.

Jam session on Tuesday

The monthly acoustic music jam session is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 10, beginning at 7 p.m. in the reading room of the Eagles Club, 124 W. Main Street. The jam is open to all levels – beginner to expert. Get your acoustic instrument out of its case and join in the fun. The music emphasis is on traditional, country, bluegrass, folk and similar types.

Comment for the
good of the Cooperative

The Central Montana Learning Resource Center Cooperative will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10 in the Lincoln School in Lewistown.
Items on the agenda include director’s reports, action items such as itinerant resource teacher costs, calendar items, concerns and comments for the good of the Cooperative. The next Board meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.
This meeting is open to the public.

Emergency planners to meet at the City Complex Jan. 12.

The Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting will be held next Thursday, Jan. 12 at noon, at the City Complex, located at 305 West Watson in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include paging sites update, Code Red webinar training, county-wide training needs and future planning.
This meeting is open to the public.

Port Authority to
have meeting on Jan. 11

Port Authority will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 8 a.m. at Stockman’s Bank in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include both old and new business, housing, presentation by the TIF group and an update on partnerships. For more information, contact Pete Peterson at 366-4062.

School board meeting
set for Monday, Jan. 9

The regular school board meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Lincoln Board Room located at 215 Seventh Avenue South. Items on the agenda include reports, public participation, approvals on individual items and claims.

Wind and Strings
plays for Saturday dance

Come and dance to the country band Wind and Strings at the Jan. 7 Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Tom Wilson on harmonica, Carole Songer on vocals, Barbara Burley on piano and Woodie Westberg on guitar and vocals.
The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Ave. S and Barnes St. The dance goes from 2 to 4 pm. Dancers of all ages are welcome.
There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 pm. There is a small admission fee.

TBID to consider
Walleye’s request

The next TBID meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. in the DNRC Meeting Room (next to SMDC’s Office). Items to be discussed include Walleye Unlimited’s assistance request, Westwind Design services and Central Montana Travel Planner services.

TIF district holds first
meeting of new year

The Lewistown TIF District Board meets on Monday, Jan. 9. The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. at the SMDC Conference Room, 613 NE Main. Agenda items include old business, new business, review of any applications, marketing strategies for the program, and other items. The meeting is open to the public.
