Port Authority to have meeting today


Port Authority will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 8 a.m. at Stockman’s Bank in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include both old and new business, housing, presentation by the TIF group and an update on partnerships. For more information, contact Pete Peterson at 366-4062.

This meeting is open to the public. 


Fibre Arts Guild to meet on Jan. 12


On Jan. 12 the Central Montana Fibre Arts Guild will meet at Celebration Community Fellowship Church, 361 West Frontage Road on Highway 87. The meeting starts with “Show and Tell” at 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. is the business meeting; and 7:30 p.m. is the program. Crazy Bingo will be played. Bring no more than two wrapped fiber art items to play the game.

At 5 p.m., those who wish to dine may meet at Doc’s local restaurant. Please bring your Christmas tree ornament to exchange with other members, as the Christmas Party was cancelled due to the weather.


Emergency planners to meet at the City Complex Jan. 12


The Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting will be held next Thursday, Jan. 12 at noon, at the City Complex, located at 305 West Watson in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include paging sites update, Code Red webinar training, county-wide training needs and future planning.

This meeting is open to the public.


Just dance with Silver Sage


The Silver Sage Country Band is scheduled to play for the Jan. 14, Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Lloyd McKenna on mandolin and guitar, Meryl McKenna on piano, Barbara Engle on bass guitar and Don Engle on lead guitar. All will participate in harmony vocals.

The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. There is a small admission fee.


Rodeo Committee to meet Tuesday, Jan. 17


The Central Montana Fair Rodeo Committee will meet in the Ag building on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. Items to be discussed include sponsorship packages, PRCA and WPRA applications, stock contractor contract, and Muttin Bust’n – move to performance.
