Fergus County Fair Board to meet Feb. 21 The regular monthly meeting of the Fergus County Fair Board will be held at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 21, in the lobby of the Trade Center. Topics for discussion include the horse show, the rodeo, use of gate funds, and Long’s Livestock. The next regular Board meeting will be March 21. This meeting is open to the public.

“Killing You Softly With Their Songs” returns Feb. 18. Dave Rummans’ “Killing You Softly With Their Songs” Valentine’s Day show returns to Jack’s Hangar Saturday, Feb. 18. The charity event features performances from such local musicians as Les LaFranier, Jeanne Moe, Calista Singley, Karl Ortman and Rummans himself. Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 7:30. Tickets are available at the Lewistown Art Center.

City Commission invites public to join discussion Monday This Monday, Feb. 6, the City of Lewistown will hold a public hearing, welcoming comments from the public regarding the City’s overall community development needs (public facilities, economic development and housing needs), including the needs of low and moderate income persons. In addition, the City will also seek opinions on local housing, public facilities or other community needs that could be assisted by funding from the Montana Community Development Block Grant Program. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Central Montana Community Center located on 307 W Watson Street.

Fair Entertainment to meet Feb. 20 A meeting of the Central Montana Fair’s Entertainment Committee will be held at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 20, in the Trade Center. Topics for discussion include a Question/Answer session, a Meet and Greet and goals. This meeting is open to the public.

Join Fibre Arts Guild for dinner and tour The Central Montana Fibre Arts Guild will meet for supper at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9 at the China Garden. We will tour the “Sew Pieceful” quilt shop at 6:30 p.m.. There will be no meeting. This meeting is open to the public.

Local Emergency Planning Committee to meet Feb. 9 On Thursday, Feb. 9 from 12–1 p.m. the Local Emergency Planning Committee will meet to discuss Red Cross, 911 paging sites and webinar for Code Red, pipeline response annex and other business. This meeting will be held in the County Complex at 121 Eighth Avenue South. The next meeting will be on March 9 in the City Complex. This meeting is open to the public.

Backcountry Horsemen to meet Feb. 6 The Judith Basin Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Montana will hold it’s regular monthly meeting at the Sheriff’s Complex at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6. All those interested in preserving access to the backcountry of Montana for stock and horses are invited to attend. Items for discussion will include a re-cap of the Stick Horse Rodeo held last Saturday at the Sale Ring of the Fairgrounds pavilion as a part of the 72nd Winter Fair. Participation was up this year to 72 children, aged 3-8 participating. Also on the agenda is Judith Basin’s representation and preparation for the State BCH Convention in Polson, Montana, and pre-planning for the production of the chapter’s annual “Sharing Trails” event for local sixth-graders in April. Port Authority February Meeting The Fergus County Port Authority will hold their monthly meeting on Feb. 8 at Stockman Bank. The meeting starts at 8 a.m. and is open to the public. Today is for Silver Sage fans The Silver Sage Country Band is scheduled to play for the Feb. 4, Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Lloyd McKenna on mandolin and guitar, Meryl McKenna on piano, Barbara Engle on bass guitar and Don Engle on lead guitar. All will participate in harmony vocals. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome. The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. There is a small admission fee.
