LHRC meets Thursday, Aug. 4

The Lewistown Historic Resources Commission has scheduled its regular monthly meeting for Aug. 4 at 7 a.m. at Six 18 Coffee, 618 West Main Street. Several historic preservations initiatives will be discussed including the Minuteman Missile interpretive signage, the proposed Creekside Park master plan and the Reed and Bowles Trading post restoration. The public is invited to attend the meeting. There is an opening on the commission. Save Saturday for Silver SageThe Silver Sage Country Band is scheduled to play for the Aug. 6, Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Lloyd McKenna on mandolin and guitar, Meryl McKenna on piano, Barbara Engle on bass guitar and Don Engle on lead guitar. All will participate in harmony vocals.

The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. There is a small admission fee.
