County commissioners
meet Thursday afternoon

The Board of Fergus County Commissioners meets Thursday, March 23 at 2 p.m. in the commissioners’ office on the second floor of the courthouse. Items on the agenda include claims and a resolution regarding an airport loan. The meeting is open to the public.

Knights to host fish fry on Friday

The Knights of Columbus will host a fish fry Friday, March 24 at the St. Leo’s Catholic Church Commons from 5-7 p.m. Contributions support Special Olympics, Snowy Mountain Industries, St. Leo’s Youth Groups and Knights of Columbus scholarship programs. Tickets are available at St. Leo’s Parish Center, 538-9306.

Old is the “new” New

A historic building renovations workshop will be held Thursday and Friday, March 30 and 31, in Eagles Hall in Lewistown. The March 30 workshop goes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. and the March 31 workshop goes from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The workshop will include tours of properties for sale or lease.

School Board to have
regular meeting today at 6 p.m.

The School Board will meet today, Wednesday, March 22 at 6 p.m. in the Lincoln Board Room, 215 Seventh Avenue South in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include public participation (those who wish to address the Board), claims, approving hiring recommendation for the superintendent position (if necessary), Elementary District 1 levy amount, approving the multi-district agreement for technology services.
This meeting is open to the public.

Wind and Strings to
headline Saturday afternoon dance

Come and dance to the country band Wind and Strings at the March 25, Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Tom Wilson on harmonica, Carole Songer on vocals, Barbara Burley on piano, Tony Hencil on dobro and Woodie Westburg on guitar and vocals.
The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.
There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. There is a small admission fee.

Local writers’ group to meet March 23

The Lewistown Writer’s Group will meet Thursday, March 23, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at 712 Seventh Avenue North in Lewistown. Maxine Melton will be hosting the group this week.
LWG is a collaboration of Central Montana writers who meet on the second Saturday and fourth Thursday of the month. It is a non-profit resource for writers of all genres and skill levels. Members include published authors as well as those who like to write for enjoyment.
If you like to write, or be in the company of writers, come join us. If you want to share a piece of your work, bring eight copies.
