Lewistown Municipal Airport Board to meet Wednesday

 

The Lewistown Municipal Airport Board will meet at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3 in the Airport Terminal Meeting Room. Items to be discussed include claims, a special work meeting, the Bus Barn, revised contracts, the Lythall/Simmons Hangar, and hearing from the Land Use Planning Committee.

This meeting is open to the public. The next Board meeting is scheduled for June 7 at 3 p.m.

 

Beaver Creek Cemetery Association holds annual meeting

 

The Beaver Creek Cemetery Association will have its annual meeting on Monday, May 1, at the Beaver Creek Fire Hall at 6 p.m. This meeting is open to the public.

 

Back Country Horsemen to meet May 1

 

The Judith Basin Chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Montana invites all those interested in preserving access to the back country for pleasure trail riding to join them at their regular monthly meeting, Monday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Sheriff’s Complex.

A recap of “Sharing Trails Education Day” produced last Friday, April 21 at the Riding Pavilion at Fergus Fairgrounds, plus planning for manning the rodeo gates at the Country Fair are on the agenda.

Work parties to clear existing trails and pleasure rides will also be discussed.

Calling band musicians: July Fourth Marching Band wants you

 

Calling all musicians. If you play a marching band instrument, consider joining the Fourth of July Parade Community Marching Band. Students who’ve completed the seventh-grade through adults are welcome.

Rehearsals will be held throughout June. Music and some instruments can be provided.

Moose members to have potluck dinner for new officers today

 

New officers for the Loyal Order of Moose and the Women of the Moose will be installed today, April 29, starting at 5 p.m. A potluck dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Join us to congratulate these new officers and lend them your support.

 

District Court to host “Passport Day”

 

On Saturday, May 6, Clerk of District Court Phyllis Smith is hosting “Passport Day,” encouraging members of the public to come and register for a passport or renew one if they haven’t already. “Passport Day” takes place from 9 a.m. until noon on the third floor of the Fergus County Courthouse. Silver Sage to headline today’s afternoon dance

 

Come and dance to the country band, Silver Sage, at today’s afternoon dance. The band features Lloyd McKenna on mandolin and guitar, Meryl McKenna on piano, Barbara Engle on bass guitar and Don Engle on lead guitar. All will participate in harmony vocals.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. There is a small admission fee.

 

Wickens family benefit dinner and auction to be held today

 

A benefit for Wade Wickens and his family will be held today, April 29, at the Long Branch Bar in Denton, 6:30 p.m. The event includes a taco bar, and an auction featuring Hilltop Angus Blank Granite (an Angus bull), a set of tires from Woodhall Distributing, a 50-pound bag of alfalfa seed from Clearview Seed, and numerous other items.
