Arts group to hear report on construction of parklet

 

The Lewistown Arts and Entertainment District Association board will meet at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 9, in the second-floor conference room in the Brooks Building.

The board will hear a report on the very successful Art Party, held in the Ag Building at the Fergus County Fairgrounds last Friday. Also on the agenda will be an update on the construction of the parklet to be placed on Main Street this summer.

Spika Welding and Manufacturing Co., Lewistown, is building the parklet. The A and E district board also was notified the 30 banners for Main Street are on their way from an East Coast manufacturer. 

The meeting is open to the public.

 

Central Montana Health District hosts public meeting

 

The Central Montana Health District Board will host a public meeting on Thursday, June 8 at 10 a.m. in the CMHD Conference Room, Centennial Plaza, at 300 First Ave. N., in Suite 201 in Lewistown. The meeting is open to the public and public comments are welcome. Topics on the agenda are FY 2017-2018 budgets, septic filing program update, septic litigation, Code 4 training, PHEP policies and protocols, public health system improvement grant and reports from each department. Trap and Skeet Club to have annual meeting Saturday

 

The Lewistown Trap and Skeet Club’s annual organizational meeting is this Saturday, June 10, at noon at the club and shooting range on Airport Road.

The Lewistown Trap and Skeet Club was formed in 1955, and has been serving Central Montana sportsmen, women and supervised youth for over 60 years.

A regularly scheduled shoot is hosted every Sunday at 1 p.m. (in season), and the facilities are accessible to members at any time convenient to them. Sharing the club with family and friends makes a wonderful group outdoor sportsmen experience. The Trap and Skeet Club is located on Airport Road.

 

Fibre Arts Guild to have potluck picnic June 8

 

The Central Montana Fibre Arts Guild will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 at the Frank Day Park for a potluck picnic. Please bring ideas for programs for next year.

 

Central Montana Learning Resource Center Co-op to meet June 8

 

The Central Montana Learning Resource Cooperative will meet on Thursday, June 8 at 10 a.m. in the Lincoln School building in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include personnel records, school psychologist contract, various other medical contracts, investment resolution and various reports. 

This meeting is open to the public. 

 

Council on Aging to host trip to Billings musical

 

On Sunday, June 18, the Fergus County Council on Aging will host a trip to Joel Paley’s  “Ruthless! The Musical” at Billings Studio Theatre. The trip also includes a visit to Applebee’s (those attending must pay for their own lunch). Those interested in attending must contact the Council on Aging at 535-7486 by Wednesday, June 7.

 

Local Emergency Planning Committee to meet Thursday

 

The Local Emergency Planning Committee plans to meet on Thursday, June 8 from noon-1 p.m. at the County Complex (121 Eighth Ave. S.) in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include the DES position, secretary nominations, 911 updates and Code Red, the pipeline and other items of business. The next meeting is planned for July 13.

This meeting is open to the public.

 

Silver Sage to headline Saturday’s afternoon dance

 

The Silver Sage Country Band is scheduled to play for the June 10, Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Lloyd McKenna on mandolin and guitar, Meryl McKenna on piano, Barbara Engle on bass guitar and Don Engle on lead guitar. All will participate in harmony vocals.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. There is a small admission fee.

 

Creekside Marketplace ideas to be discussed at next TIF District Board meeting

 

The next public meeting of the Lewistown TIF District Board will be held Monday, June 12 at 8 a.m. in the SMDC Conference Room, 613 N.E. Main Street in Lewistown.

Agenda items include: project signs update, new applications review, update on the May 15th city meeting; marketing, and Creekside Marketplace ideas.This meeting is open to the public.

 

Lewistown Trails Coordinating Committee to meet June 13

 

The Lewistown Trails Coordinating Committee will meet Tuesday, June 13 at 11 a.m., in the Civic Center. Items to be discussed include Trails and Ales, Creekside Park and Pavilion, mountain bike trail development and trail paving progress.
