EQC meets June 29-30 in Helena

 

The Environmental Quality Council holds its first meeting of the 2017-2018  legislature interim on June 29 and 30 in Helena. The meeting begins June 29 at 1 p.m. in Room 172 of the Capitol.

At its first meeting, the EQC will elect its leadership and adopt a work plan for the interim. The Council will also tour aquatic invasive species inspection facilities at Canyon Ferry Reservoir and receive agency updates, including on wolf management, sage grouse conservation, remedial actions overseen by DEQ, cabin site leasing, water supply and the fire season.

Fergus County Fair Board to meet June 20

 

The regular monthly meeting of the Fergus County Fair Board will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, in the lobby of the Trade Center. Items to be discussed include committee reports, the State 4-H horse show, cement bathroom showers, fee committee recommendations, nursing station, Mid-Rivers’ wireless proposal and an update on the Central Montana Fair.

The public is encouraged to attend.

 

Construction to begin on Horse Ranch Road Bridge

 

Bairco Construction, Inc. will be working on the bridge replacement of the Horse Ranch Road Bridge located on Horse Ranch Road off Hwy 191, 34 miles northeast of Lewistown. Construction is anticipated to start June 2017 and to be completed by mid-Sept. 2017.

During demolition of the existing bridge a temporary detour bridge will be set for local traffic use. Traffic control signs will be set in place for the safety of all road users.

 

Wind and Strings to perform at Saturday’s dance

 

Come and dance to the country band, Wind and Strings, at today’s Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Tom Wilson on harmonica, Carole Songer on vocals, Tony Hencil on dobro and Woodie Westburg on guitar and vocals.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. The dance goes from 2-4 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. There is a small admission fee.

 

Tourism Business Improvement District Board to meet 

 

Lewistown Tourism Business Improvement District No. 1 will meet on Tuesday, June 20, 11 a.m., at Snowy Mountain Development Corporation 613 N.E. Main St. in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include: election of TBID officers, Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering, Creekside Marketplace and Pavilion, financial reports and public commentary. 

This meeting is open to the public.

 

4X4 Club meets Wednesday at the Eagles

The C’MON 4X4 Club will meet Wednesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Eagles Club. We have weekend campout runs planned for both June and July. The group invites anyone interested to join them for more information.
