Coach offers free seminar on becoming a collegiate athlete



Join Berry College Head Track and Field Coach Luke Syverson, and Sara Bren Syverson, former Concordia University volleyball and basketball player, for a free seminar on navigating the recruiting process for college athletes. 

The seminar will be held Sunday, July 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Fergus High School Library. All high school students and parents are welcome to attend. 

Topics to be covered include what it takes to compete in college, how recruiting works, how to communicate with coaches, recruiting and admissions timelines and how to use social media responsibly. The seminar also includes information about Berry College, a private four-year liberal arts college with a Christian emphasis in Mount Berry, Georgia.



Daines to host teletownhall to discuss Senate health Bill today


U.S. Senator Steve Daines announced he will host his 17th teletownhall today, June 28, at 6:15 p.m. to discuss the Senate healthcare draft bill with Montanans.

Daines posted the healthcare bill on his website, Facebook and Twitter for Montanans to read. The link to read the bill is .

During the teletownhall, Daines will answer healthcare questions from across Montana.

Shake your groove thing this Saturday with Groovy Gaffers


The Groovy Gaffers will provide the music for the Saturday afternoon dance on July 1. The band features Lauri Lohrer on vocals, and Dave Robertson, Don and Barb Engle on guitars and vocals. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short coffee cookie break at 3 p.m.

If you enjoy dancing to good country music, come and join in the fun. Dancers of all ages are welcome. The club building is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. There is a small admission fee.


Square dancers invited to Montgomery Barn Thursday


Thursday evening, June 29, there will be square dancing at Montgomery’s Barn, starting at 7 p. m. The barn is located four miles up Spring Creek Road, turn right at the Y, and take an immediate right turn to the barn. 

Dancing will be easy level summer dancing and is open to all square dancers.

The next summer dance is scheduled for Thursday, July 13, at 7 p. m. at Utica Hall.


Montana Pulse Crop Committee meeting Thursday, July 6


The Montana Pulse Crop Committee will meet at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 6 in Glasgow, Montana at the Cottonwood Inn (54250 US Hwy. 2). Items to be discussed include financial reports, legal update/review, review/draft administrative rules, survey results and vote on assessment percentage. This meeting is open to the public.

Revival of Hope Southern Cospel Concert and cookout starts Sunday


The 10th annual Revival of Hope Southern Gospel Concert and cookout week will be July 2-7 in Hawthorne Park (behind the 4 Aces). The event includes recreation, cook outs, concerts and a challenge from the Bible, with door prizes from local sponsors. 

Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. there will be Vacation Bible School for students ages 6-13. Along with afternoon hikes and outings, students will enjoy cave exploring, both in Lewistown and in the Bible. Have fun with lots of games, songs, Bible time, water balloons and lunch.

On Sundays, breakfast is at 9:30 a.m., Bible study is at 10 a.m. and Worship and the Word is at 11 a.m.

On July 4, after the parade, join the Revival for free hotdogs and watermelon at Hawthorne Park.
