Fair Rodeo Committee to meet Tuesday, July 18


A meeting of the Central Montana Fair Rodeo Committee will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, under the grandstands. Items to be discussed include sponsorships, posters, photographer, programs, event sponsors and the arena. This meeting is open to the public.


Lewistown raceway celebrating 60th anniversary


On Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16, Lewistown Drag Racing is celebrating 60 years with a big buck shootout ($1,000 payout for the winner of each class), a 60th anniversary race, Lewistown points race, ET class bracket racing, high school and junior dragster racing. 

On Sunday there will be Lewistown points racing, ET Class bracket racing, high school, junior dragster and more racing opportunities. Anyone who has a history with the raceway is encouraged to come, whether to race or not. Those with any memorabilia are encouraged to bring it. Old trophies, awards, posters, schedules, jackets and more will be on display. 


Wind and Strings to headline today’s afternoon dance


Come and dance to the country band, Wind and Strings, today’s afternoon dance. The band features Tom Wilson on harmonica, Carole Songer on vocals, Barbara Burley on piano, Tony Hencil on dobro and Woodie Westburg on guitar and vocals.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. There is a small admission fee.
