Police Blotter

The following report is taken from information provided by the Lewistown Police Department and does not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are innocent until proven guilty.


Oct. 14

• At 9:42 a.m. a 911 caller reported two juveniles were driving at a location and don’t have drivers licenses. An officer responded and transported both juveniles.

• At 2:10 p.m. a concerned party called to state there was a garbage can blowing around the street. An officer responded.


Oct. 15

• At 1:54 a.m. a 911 caller reported a fight at a local bar. Officers responded and one male was transported to the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office.

• At 3:23 a.m. a 911 caller voiced a concern he hadn’t seen his wife in two or three hours and she had been drinking. Officers responded, and the caller’s wife was located at 3:56 a.m. and was fine.

• At 11:27 a.m. a 911 caller reported the tree he was cutting fell into the power line for a light pole. Lewistown Fire Dept. and NorthWestern Energy responded.

• At 12:56 p.m. a 911 caller requested medical assistance for an infant with hair wrapped around her toes. Medical personnel responded.

• At 1:53 p.m. after a traffic stop, officers arrested a male for driving with a revoked license and transported him to the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office.

• At 1:59 p.m. a 911 caller requested an officer speak to a woman standing outside a residence, but not welcome at that residence. Officers responded and advised it was a dispute between an employer and employee, and the employee was trespassed from the property.

• At 4:58 p.m. a person reported a vehicle apparently slipped out of “Park” and rolled into a dumpster near a local business. Officers responded and advised there was not any reportable damage.

• At 8:59 p.m. a person called to advise that between 20 and 30 kids were going to be playing “cops and robbers” across town.


Oct. 16

• A 911 caller reported a crack in the asphalt on Highway 191 near Roy. Fergus County Sheriff’s Office was advised.

• At 11:44 a.m., a person in the lobby reported some black paneling blowing around near the walking trail.

• At 3:56 p.m. a concerned party requested extra patrols around her residence due to vehicle damage during the night.

• At 5:05 p.m. a 911 caller reported damage to a lounge on a porch. Officers responded and advised the damage was likely done by the weather.

• At 6:03 p.m. multiple 911 calls were received reporting an unresponsive female who’d been hiking in the Little Belt Mountains. Stanford Ambulance rendezvoused with a private vehicle and transported the patient to Geyser where Mercy Flight picked up the patient.


Oct. 17

• At 1:41 p.m. a person reported his mother was receiving fraudulent phone calls. The man said the victim sent them money last weekend. Petroleum County sheriff responded and spoke with the woman. 

• At 6:32 p.m. a person reported a male hitchhiking along Highway 87. The person is concerned the male is going to get hit.


Oct. 18

• At 10:52 a.m. a person reported the street lights are making a horrible noise. NorthWestern Energy was advised.


Oct. 19

• At 5:06 p.m. a concerned neighbor reported a possible domestic situation. Officers responded and found a juvenile having a tantrum.

• At 5:06 p.m. there was a traffic complaint about a skateboarder going down the middle of the traffic lane and not moving over.


Oct. 20

• At 11:58 a.m. a person called complaining about dust from the construction near Subway.
