The following report is taken from information provided by the Lewistown Police Department and does not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are innocent until proven guilty.


July 8

At 8:13 a.m. a woman reported finding a small black kitten in her yard.

• At 9:43 a.m. a caller requested a dead crow be picked up off the street.

• At 11:56 a.m. a woman wanted to know if she could take a car. She stated she had loaned a friend money, and he had given her the car’s title as collateral.

• At 6:18 p.m. a caller reported a rooster in the 900 block between Water and Watson streets. Responding officers could not catch the bird.


July 9

At 2:16 p.m. a caller reported a man was once again on his property, and this time the man was trying to break in. An officer responded and gave the man a trespass letter.

• At 2:17 p.m. a woman reported a suspicious man outside her house. When responding officers discovered this was the same man from the previous call, he was arrested and taken to the Fergus County Sheriff’s Department.


July 10

• At 2:57 a.m. a caller stated she saw two men pushing a trailer loaded with an ATV. The duo was now out of sight, and the woman was worried they had stolen the trailer.


July 11

• At 12:25 p.m. the Judith Basin County Sheriff reported a man in a wheelchair was hitchhiking through Judith Basin and Fergus counties.

• At 12:45 p.m. a caller stated there was graffiti on the side of Esplanade Condominiums.

• At 9:48 p.m. a woman requested help removing a belligerent male from her lawn.

• At 11:19 p.m. a caller reported someone had relocated traffic cones from the sidewalk construction, putting them in the road and on people’s vehicles.


July 12

• At 1 a.m. an officer reported an open gate at a local business.

• At 1:20 a.m. an officer said a local school had an open door.

• At 1:59 a.m. an officer reported an open window at a local business. The key holder was informed, showed up and did a walkthrough.

• At 3:53 a.m. an officer said a local school had an open door. The officer did a walkthrough.


July 14

• At 10:15 a.m. a caller reported a dead iguana in an alley
