Questions about exempt water rights claims?

Fergus Conservation District and MSU Extension Service will host an informational meeting on Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. in the Council on Aging building at 307 W. Watson, Lewistown.

Several months ago, all Montana landowners received a form to file for Exempt Claimed Water Rights. This is an important opportunity to file on rights for livestock drinking directly from natural water sources, and domestic and stockwater wells put to use before July 1, 1973.

Jim Beck, a retired employee of DNRC Helena Regional Office, will speak on the topic. He has worked in several water resource areas, including water rights.

Call Fergus Conservation District at 538-7401 with questions regarding the meeting. This meeting is open to the public.
