Rachel Brasier Cowen Eide passed away peacefully on the evening of Aug. 2. She was born on Aug. 15, 1924 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lewistown, to Walter G. and Ruth (Heatherly) Brasier of Roy. Rachel was raised on their ranch southeast of Roy and loved the ranch life. She was particularly fond of her horses and became an expert horsewoman.

Rachel graduated from Roy High School in 1940 and later that fall married William (Bill) G. Cowen of Lewistown. They had three children together; Keay, Diana and Billy. In 1957 the family moved to Billings, where Rachel continued her career as a real estate broker that began in Lewistown. Rachel and Bill later divorced and several years later she married Lloyd Eide and moved to Bozeman. In 1976 she moved back to Lewistown and opened Spring Creek Realty. After 30 plus years in the real estate business, Rachel retired, but soon went back to

work as the night manager at the Eagles Manor. She was there for 18 years and developed many wonderful friendships with the residents and her faithful companion Maximillian “Max”, her shih tzu dog. She and Max could be seen by many, walking around the block several times a day.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents and brother.

She is survived by daughters, Keay J. Cowen, Diana R. C. Hewitt, and son, William W. (Vickey) Cowen, all of Lewistown; grandchildren: Malisa (Brad) Therriault, Carra (Brian) Godbey, Jason D.
