Roberta (Bert, aka Rita) McDonald

Roberta McDonald (Bert, aka Rita), age 85, passed away Aug. 24, 2019 at CMMC of natural causes. She was born in Maud, Oklahoma on Nov. 3, 1933.

Roberta came to Lewistown in 1971 and worked at the Bar 19 for Darryl McKenzie, a very dear friend. She later moved to Anchorage, Alaska and married John McDonald in 1981. They stayed in Alaska until they retired, moving back to Lewistown in 2005.

Roberta loved her family and is survived by four children, Ed Ross, Fairbanks, Alaska; Suzie Snow, Lewistown; Patty Smith (Don Hayes), Lewistown; stepdaughter Shelby McDonald, California; two sisters, Lillian Anderson, Utah and Kathy Thomas, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Roberta in death were her husband, John McDonald; sister Bobbie; and two sons-in-law, Dick Smith and Jim Snow.

There will be a Celebration of Life, for memories and some laughs, on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Eagles Hall with a luncheon to follow from 12:30-3 p.m.

Burial in Central Montana Memorial Gardens (Sunset Gardens) will follow the luncheon.
