Secretary of State notifies legislators: no special session

On May 31 a group of 10 legislators requested Secretary of State Linda McCulloch to poll all legislators to determine whether a majority of legislators were in favor of holding a special session. Ballots were sent to legislators on June 6. The deadline to return ballots to the Office of the Secretary of State was July 1. After tabulating returned ballots, McCulloch determined the poll for a special session was unsuccessful. Of the 94 ballots that were returned, 20 voted for the poll while 74 voted against. A special session will not be held.
