Dec. 1
• At 1:01 a.m. Central Montana Dispatch radioed over a call about a possible break in. A man reported being woken by a woman smashing his windows. She ran away, and the caller thought she was at the trailer at the back of his property. A deputy responded, confirming one broken window but no woman. At 1:52 a.m. a deputy arrived at the jail with someone arrested for criminal, mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with the incident.


Dec. 2
• At 5:35 a.m. dispatch took the first in a series of calls from a mother looking for her incarcerated son. The woman stated she was calling from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to find information on her son. The dispatcher told the caller the person in question was not at the Fergus County Jail and gave her another department to call. The woman started yelling, saying her son was missing, She eventually hung up.

The woman called back several times over the next hour, yelling, screaming and cussing at the dispatch operator, and threatening to file charges for lying and concealing the man’s location. At 6:30 a.m. dispatch contacted the Colorado Springs Police Department, requesting they contact the woman and tell her to stop harassing the Fergus County Sheriff’s Department’s dispatch center.


Dec. 3
• At 10:50 a.m. a caller reported several items had been stolen from his vehicle.


Dec. 4
• At 12 a.m. Central Montana Dispatch called about a suspicious circumstance. A woman had called them about a late-night knock on her door. The visitor claimed to be law enforcement. He stated he was looking for a fugitive and showed her a badge, but was not wearing a uniform and did not give his name.
