Jan. 20
• At 8:22 p.m. a trail system user called in possible drug use. The man claimed he had returned to a parking area after walking his dogs only to discover pot smoke rolling out the windows of a parked Jeep. A deputy drove to the area, and several drivers’ license requests were run, one coming back as learner’s permit only. The caller refused to sign a statement on the grounds of remaining anonymous.


Jan. 21
• At 3:42 p.m. Central Montana Dispatch notified the sheriff’s department of a 911-hangup call. A call back revealed everything was ok, but that a grandmother was going to talk to her grandchildren about not calling 911 unless there was an emergency.

• At 10:34 p.m. a woman reported a theft. She said she was out of town Wednesday through Friday. She had returned with an employee earlier in the evening. An hour later, the worker discovered he was missing cash, hunting supplies and fishing supplies from his vehicle. She joined the employee, and the two discovered cash, tools and other items were missing from the shop. Nothing had been taken from the house.

Jan. 22
• At 9:47 a.m. a man made a noise complaint. He stated his neighbor’s chainsaw was making too much noise and he couldn’t hear his TV. The man didn’t know the neighbor’s name, but knew he lived across the street and has been doing this for several days. A deputy responded, reporting the chainsaw user was mostly done cutting wood.

Jan. 23
• At 3:54 p.m. a woman reported someone had burgled her camper.

Jan. 24
• At 9:36 p.m. Central Montana Dispatch notified the sheriff’s department about a possible drunk driver. A business had called 911 when one of their employees, highly intoxicated, had refused to stay until sober, instead driving home.
