Compiling reporter
The following report is taken from information provided by the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office and does not represent the total scope of the sheriff office’s activity. All persons are innocent until proven guilty.

In the last week, the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office received over 92 calls for service. There were at least three civil complaints, 11 vehicle accidents, 37 burn permits issued and seven people booked into the Fergus County Detention Center.

Dec. 28
• At 1:37 a.m. the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office arrested someone on a Fergus County warrant issued for theft.
• At 9:44 a.m. a man called in loose livestock and feed. There were cows outside of their fence, and there was some hay on the road. The caller was worried the cows would end up eating their way to the middle of the highway.

Dec. 30
• At 10:58 a.m. a man called the sheriff’s office wanting to know why a particular street wasn’t plowed anymore. He stated he had called the road department, but had to leave a message. The man explained he was concerned as to why the street wasn’t being plowed.
• At 11:32 p.m. a deputy requested medical assistance for an inmate. A man in the process of being booked into jail bashed his head off a window on a Lewistown Police Department patrol truck. The deputy reported the inmate now had a cut on his head. An ambulance arrived 10 minutes later.

Dec. 31
• At 1:01 a.m. a person was booked into the county detention center after being arrested by a police officer. He was detained for second-offense disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
• At 5:13 a.m. a man was brought into the detention center by the Lewistown Police Department after being arrested for partner/family member assault.

Jan. 1
• At 4:31 p.m. a man requested a game warden call him. He had lost his tags and wanted to know what he could do. While the sheriff’s office was calling the game warden, the man called back. He had found the tags.
• At 5:37 p.m. a woman called in her son’s traffic accident. He had hit a cow and now wasn’t able to use the vehicle. Deputies responded, and reported both driver and passenger were uninjured. The cow had walked off.
