Sidewalk work continues; signs also to be installed

Concrete work on the Lewistown sidewalks project will continue from Eighth Avenue down to Seventh Avenue on the southeast side of West Main Street. Upcoming work will also include replacement of storm drain and ADA sidewalk ramps at all four corners of Sixth Avenue. Traffic in these areas will be shifted away from the work zone, but will remain two-way traffic.

Signing crews will be present on the project. This work will be from approximately one mile west of the Highway 87/Truck Bypass intersection, working east into town at the Airport Rd/Highway 87 intersection. Signing crews will also be installing signs at various locations along both sides of East Main Street. Signing work should have no impact on traffic.

At this time, Century Companies Inc. would like to remind motorists to always expect the unexpected when driving through work zones. Motorists are advised to watch for work crews, heavy equipment and reduced speed limits. Posted limits are enforced until signs indicate the work zone has ended. Fines will double in work zones.

Road construction plays a crucial role in maintaining safe roadways and travel throughout Montana. Century Companies Inc. asks that motorists practice patience when approaching construction zones. Travelers should expect delays and are encouraged to adjust their travel times accordingly.
