Solomon A. Schraeder

Solomon A. Schraeder was born in Kimball, Neb. on Oct. 4, 1924. He lived in Fort Collins, Colo., and proudly served as a Machinists Mate Third Class in the U. S. Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1946.
Sol was a professional carpenter and cabinet-maker, which brought him to Lewistown from Fort Collins. It’s here that he met his future wife, Shirley. Sol and Shirley were married in 1983 and lived in Lewistown until she passed away in 2007. Sol maintained his Lewistown residence until he passed away on June 22.
Sol was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing at Ackley Lake, trap shooting and big game hunting. He loved to tend his garden and cheer on his favorite sports teams, the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies.
Sol was a proud grandpa to his granddaughter, Jennifer, and his grandson, Michael, and his wife Maria. Sol is survived by his stepson, Kim and daughter-in-law, Gina.
Services for Sol were held with military honors on Sunday, June 26 at the Lewistown Cemetery.
