Plagenz wins scholarship

Lewistown student Jakob Plagenz was recently awarded the Reach Higher Montana Scholarship. Plagenz is a student at Carroll College.

The Reach Higher Montana Scholarship awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors, and to students already in college to use for their second, third, or fourth year of college. Seventy-five Montana students received the scholarship, for use in the 2017-18 academic year.

“This scholarship program was originally started in 2005 by our employees and colleagues.  In that time, we’ve awarded over $760,000,” said Kelly Cresswell, Reach Higher Montana Executive Director. “For students struggling to pay for higher education, every dollar counts. We are grateful to our supporters who have helped fund and grow this program over the past twelve years.”

The program will begin accepting applications for the 2018-19 academic year in December 2017. Interested students can visit for more information, or follow Reach Higher Montana on Facebook.

Based in Helena, Reach Higher Montana is the public benefit partnership between Student Assistance Foundation (SAF) and the Montana Higher Education Student Assistance Corporation (MHESAC).
