Zier graduates from Montana Youth Challenge Academy


The Commencement Ceremony for Class 36, Montana Youth Challenge Academy, was held on Saturday, June 17, on the University of Montana-Western campus in Dillon, Montana. Seventy-three cadets, including Lewistown’s  Trystin Zier, graduated during the formal ceremony.

Speakers included Major General Matthew Quinn, the Adjutant General, Montana National Guard, Judge Luke Berger, Fifth Judicial District, State of Montana and University of Montana-Western Dean of Students Nicole Hazelbaker. Other guests included Brigadier General Bryan Fox, commander, Montana Air National Guard; Erica Swanson, state coordinator, Jobs for Montana Graduates; Eddie Zimpel, field representative for U.S. Senator Jon Tester; and Patrick Web, field representative for U.S. Senator Steve Daines.

The Montana Youth Challenge Academy is a two-phase, academic-based program located in Dillon, Montana on the University of Montana-Western campus. The Academy’s focus is to assist youth, ages 16-18, by helping them develop the academic and life skills necessary to be successful.
