Taylor honored by National High School Athletic Coaches Association

Fergus High School Volleyball Coach Tara Taylor was one of eight volleyball finalists honored at this year’s National Coach of the Year Awards banquet held Wednesday evening, June 29, at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky. Taylor was selected by the Montana Coaches Association for the NHSACA National Coach of the Year award. She was named one of the eight finalists for the volleyball award in mid-June.

Taylor was selected by the MCA for the national honor based on longevity, service to high school athletics, honors, championship years and winning percentage. The nominees and finalists were evaluated by experts in the field of coaching using a sports-specific rubrics to assign points in each category.

The NHSACA recognized national coaches of the year in 19 sports categories at this year’s banquet. The NHSACA is the oldest coaches association in the nation formed by coaches, for coaches and has been recognizing national coaches of the year since 1978.
