Thelma Mae Metcalfe

Thelma Mae Metcalfe, 87, of Moccasin, Mont., passed way of natural causes in Lewistown on Jan.19, 2017 at Valle Vista Healthcare.

Thelma was born June 25, 1929 in Conrad, Mont., to Hobart Bangs Alford and Mary Von Stallen Alford. In 1947 she graduated from Shelby High School. 

Thelma worked for the Texas Company District Office and moved with them to Lewistown in 1948 and worked as secretary of the Geological Department for five years. On June 7, 1952 she married Lee L. Metcalfe and moved with him to the farm in Benchland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart Alford and Mary Alford McConnell; husband, Lee L. Metcalfe; son, Timothy L. Metcalfe; brother, Willis Alford; great granddaughter, Lea Metcalfe; and granddaughter-in-law, Candice Metcalfe.

She is survived by her sons, Terry L. (Connie) Metcalfe and Michael H. (Nancy) Metcalfe; grandchildren, Timothy Metcalfe and Diedra (Kenny) Murray and Nicholas, Matthew, Adam and Trinity Metcalfe; great-grandchildren, Kellen and Brekken Murray and Sophia Metcalfe.

Graveside Services will be held at the Lewistown City Cemetery on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at 11 a.m.  Memorials in Thelma’s honor may be made to Central Montana Medical Center Hospice.
