Timothy Lee Best

Timothy Lee Best passed away March 10, 2019 with his family at his side after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Tim was the son of Dale and Julia (Westberg) Best. He was born Jan. 30, 1948 in Lewistown. He grew up on the ranches at Straw and Glengarry. He attended elementary school at Straw and Glengarry and high school in Lewistown. Elvis Presley was his idol growing up. He loved strumming on his guitar singing with his collar turned up, tight pants and his hair all slicked back.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and after basic training was shipped to Viet Nam, where he met and married his wife on July 20, 1970. After Viet Nam, he and his family settled in Tacoma, Washington. Tim served three tours in Germany. After his discharge in 1987, he retired in Tacoma until his death.

Tim is survived by his wife Mia, daughter Tina, sons Tim Jr. and Jim, brothers Kenneth Best and Stanley Best, sisters Betty Simpson and Shirley Crofutt, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parent and one sister.

Cremation has taken place with burial of ashes in Tahoma National Cemetery at Kent, Washington on March 15.
