Grass Range freshmen Zoe Delaney and Jacob Jessen are taking Class C track and field by storm. At the Central Montana Invite on Saturday in Lewistown, Delaney earned three individual first-place finishes and helped the Winnett-Grass Range 4 X 400-meter relay take third. On the boys’ side, Jessen won the 110-meter high hurdles for the Rams, placed fourth in the 1600-meter run, 300-meter hurdles and triple jump, and then helped the boys’ relay team take fourth in the 4 X 400-meter relay.
Last Thursday, Delaney placed first in all three of her running events at the Fairfield-Belt Invitational held at Memorial Stadium in Great Falls. Her time in the 100 in Great Falls was 13.34 seconds. She completed the 200 in a time of 27.06 and took the 400 with a time of 1:01.77. In addition, Delaney helped the 4 X 400-meter relay team of Kendra Murnion, Sydney Browning, Darylee Berg and herself finish second with a time of 4:38.15.
Delaney was not the only Winnett-Grass Range girl to place at the meet in Great Falls. Jacy Nunn was sixth in the 200-meter run (29.14) and fourth in the long jump (13-08.75). Tawny Browning finished third in the 1,600-meter run (6:27.89) and in the 3,200-meter run (14:23.44). Murnion was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.24) and third in the 300-meter hurdles (52.29). Shelby Browning with a jump of 4-4 finished fifth in the high jump.

Jessen places in four events at Fairfield-Belt Invite
Jessen placed in all five of his events in Great Falls on Thursday. He was third in both hurdle races. His time in the 110 hurdles was 18.28 and in the 300 hurdles 46.18.
