Walter and Marilyn Waite were chosen Grand Marshals for this year’s Whoop Up Parade in Confad. They led the parade on June 3.

The Waites were awarded this honor for unselfishly giving their time and talents for the betterment of the community.

The two old timers tapped the Conrad Fire Department’s antique Model T Ford fire engine for their trip down Conrad’s main street.

It’s a small world, as this old 1920 Model T engine truck originally belonged to the Stanford Fire Department. Walter, now 91, was born at Stanford in 1926. He was raised at Utica.

The Whoop-Up Trail Days celebration comes complete with a Whoop-Up Rodeo, this year marking the rodeo’s 77th visit to Conrad. Trail Days is sponsored by Conrad Lions Club and brings two full days of rodeo and other activities to Conrad.
