Thirty-eight 4-H members, parents and leaders descended on the 4-H Small Animal Barn and transformed it from a storage building to a Rabbit and Poultry Exhibit Barn in preparation for the Central Montana Fair.
Visitors will find 66 birds and 67 rabbits displayed by 30 proud 4-H members. Please come visit, the members love to share their animals. The barn will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day of the fair. The Small Animal Barn is located on the north end of the fairgrounds, next to the 4-H food booth and across from the Livestock Pavilion and Draft Horse Barn.
The rabbit showmanship and conformation classes will begin at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 25; the rabbit agility classes will be Tuesday morning, July 26, beginning at 9 a.m. The poultry showmanship and conformation classes will be Tuesday afternoon, starting at 1 p.m. A rabbit agility exhibition will be on Thursday afternoon, July 28, from 4 to 5 p.m. All of the shows will take place in the center of the small animal barn on the brand new concrete pad.
The new pad was funded by the Central Montana Foundation and another generous anonymous donor. Lewistown Rental and Greg Carlson provided tools and equipment, 4-H members, parents and leaders provided elbow grease, and Calvin and Garrett Bronec provided their expertise.
