Wilson James Richards, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the age of 95. Wilson was born to Don Carlos and Dulcena Mae Yaetes Richards on Aug. 14, 1922, the third of three boys. Wilson grew up on his dad’s ranch near Custer, Montana. He enjoyed many wonderful days roaming the range, enjoying the beautiful country, and hunting for coyotes with his dog, Sadie. Wilson and Virginia Frances Barnett were united in marriage on Nov. 9, 1944. Their three daughters, Janet, Susan and Teresa, brought much joy to Wilson and Virginia.

He was the true definition of an oldtime cowboy. He was a great horseman, roper and caretaker of the land. Wilson and Virginia loved nothing more than being on the ranch near Gilt Edge, Montana. They spent many wonderful years together raising cattle. Virginia preceded him in death in 2008.

Wilson has nine grandchildren. He loved to teach them to hunt, fish and ride horses. He instilled in them the love of the outdoors. Wilson also has 13 great-grandchildren with whom he loved to spend time during his last years. They loved their great-papa.

Wilson spent the last three years of his life at Cristwood Court in Shoreline, Washington where he made many special friends. A memorial service will be held at Cristwood on Sunday, July 1 at 2 p.m. in the Kings Chapel. Cristwood is located at 19303 Fremont Ave., Shoreline, Wash.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Crista Senior Living’s Good Samaritan Fund in Shoreline, Washington.
