Helen Marie Stanton

Helen was born on July 23, 1921 in Ellensburg, Washington to Bert and Beatrice Spaulding. Helen married Archie W. Stanton on November 11, 1944.  Together they had three children: William “Bill” Lee, Jeanne Marie, and Shauna Faye.

Helen poured many a cup of coffee during her life while working as a waitress at Ed and Lil’s Café, The Gem Café and the Yogo Inn.

She was involved with the VFW Auxiliary, a lifetime member of the CMMC Auxiliary, the Red Hats, Volunteer of the Year at the Council on Aging, Grub Stakes, foot clinic, funeral and wedding receptions, Blood Mobile and a team member for Relay for Life. She has been a member of the Eagles Auxiliary since 1957.  During her time as the Eagles Auxiliary State President, she raised $11,600 that was used to purchase a laser microscope for the Central Montana Hospital.

Helen enjoyed playing cards, Bunco, going to yard sales and crocheting where she put her loving hands to work crocheting baby caps for the nursery at CMMC, prayer shawls for Hospice and baby afghans for everyone and anyone that needed one. Her handy work is truly going to be missed.
