CMMC Auxiliary

September minutes

The meeting was called to order by Past President Linda Werdin in the absence of President Patty Neeman. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jerri Carpenter, with Cherie Neudick leading the Auxiliary Pledge, and Janelle Wichman leading the Auxiliary Prayer.

Thank you notes from scholarship recipients and tea party guests were read.

The minutes from the May meeting were read and approved. Frances Hunter read the Treasurer’s Report in the absence of Pat Mausehund. She also reported on the results of the CMMC Rummage Sale held on Sept. 10.

 

Old business

Jerri Carpenter reported she was unable to recruit band players for the 4th of July parade this year but she has already started contacting people for next year.

 

Committee reports

Jeri Carpenter reported the blood drive went extremely well with a very good turnout. The next blood drive will be held on Oct. 4.

Jackie Moberley announced the next book fair would take place on Oct. 19 and 20. Volunteers to help include Jan Whiffen, Nell Cruikshank and Cheryll Tuss.

Barb Janicek reported on the status of cards she had sent and requested members let her know of any time an acknowledgment is needed.

She also said cookies were being provided for the nursing home. She reminded members they need to date the cookies and deliver them to the Activities Department. This month there are five residents celebrating their birthdays. Mickey Dunlap will be meeting with staff to encourage more residents attend the parties.

Betty Yaeger, information desk chairman, and Donna Shafer, gift shop chairman, both reported they needed additional volunteers to cover the available shifts.

 

New business

Mona Harrell related a concern regarding patients who do not use the CMMC wheelchairs correctly. It was concluded we needed to submit accident report forms that will be kept at the front desk.

Nell Cruikshank stated that persons wanting to pay on their hospital bills could do so at any admitting office. Persons wanting to pay on a clinic bill can do this in Suite 6.

Barb Janicek asked if we would be creating the Christmas stockings again this year. The group suggested we determine how many were distributed last year to determine how many will be needed this year.

Liz Howell from Occupational Health spoke to the group regarding the additional requirements for volunteers with regard to immunizations. She will be updating this information for each volunteer, and may be contacting you in the near future to determine what, if any, immunizations need to be renewed.

The Pass-It-On Plate, provided by Sharon McNees, was won by Cherie Quigley.

Following the meeting, Liz provided flu shots to members wishing to receive them at this time.
