The following report is taken from information provided by the Lewistown Police Department and does not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are innocent until proven guilty.

 

July 7

• At 12:35 a.m. a 911 caller reported a physical altercation between two females. The caller said the bartender tried to break the fight up and a male punched the bartender in the arm. 

• At 12:26 p.m. a person reported a fire on Crabtree Road. The Denton Fire Department responded. 

• At 4:10 p.m. a person reported someone ran over a gas pump. The person said everything was shut off and no fuel was leaking. The Lewistown Police Department and the Lewistown Fire Department responded.

• At 4:17 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire started by a swather on Rock Creek Road. The Moore Fire Department responded.

• At 5:12 p.m. a 911 caller reported he had rolled his pickup on Lime Kiln Road The Lewistown Fire Department, the Lewistown Ambulance, the Montana Highway Patrol, and the Fergus County Sheriff’s office responded.

• At 7:30 p.m. a 911 caller reported a rollover on Highway 87 about MM 80. The Lewistown Fire Department, the Lewistown Ambulance, the Montana Highway Patrol, and the Fergus County Sheriff’s Department responded. 

• At 8:26 p.m. a 911 caller reported a hay field fire caused by a swather on Sourdough Road. The Geyser Fire Department responded.

• At 9:09 p.m. a 911 caller reported four people were fighting in the 300 block of Main Street. Officers responded. 

 

July 8

• At 12:43 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire in a field on Kendall Road. The Hilger Fire Department responded.

• At 12:47 p.m. a 911 caller requested medical for a female who had fallen off a zip line. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office and the Lewistown Ambulance responded. 

• At 3:24 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire in the area of Rattlesnake Butte. The Winnett Fire Department was paged.

• At 6:10 p.m. a person reporting a male sitting at the intersection of Joyland Road and Vrooman Street. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Department was notified. 

• At 8:45 a 911 caller reported a small fire in the ditch at MM 66 on Highway 87. The Moore Fire Department responded.

• At 9:18 p.m. a 911 caller reported a juvenile female stuck in a baby swing at Frank Day Park. The Lewistown Police Department, the Lewistown Fire Department, and the Lewistown Ambulance responded. 

 

July 9

• At 12:49 p.m. a person asked to speak to an officer regarding her brother who had rolled a pickup six times, and was still able to walk out of the hospital. The person was referred to the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office due to the location of the accident.

• At 5:17 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire one mile off the highway on King Colony Road. The Moore Fire Department responded. 

• At 9:27 p.m. numerous 911 calls reported a fire north of Stanford. The Judith Basin County Sheriff’s Office, the Stanford Fire Department, the Denton Fire Department, and the Coffee Creek Fire Department responded. 

• At 9:40 p.m. a 911 caller reported a power pole on fire. The Windham Fire Department responded as the Stanford Fire Department was on another call.

• At 10:34 p.m. a 911 caller reported he was kicked in the head and was bleeding. Officers, the Lewistown Fire Department, and the Lewistown Ambulance responded. Two citations for disorderly conduct were issued.

 

July 10

• At 9:12 a.m. a 911 caller requested medical for a female who had been bucked off a horse and was having issues breathing. The Belt Ambulance and the Mercy flight responded. The patient was taken to Benefis. 

• At 10:04 a.m. a person reported she had been assaulted by her landlord. An officer spoke to the person in the lobby. 

• At 11:06 a.m. a 911 caller reported a logging truck rolled on Rifle Range Road. The Lewistown Fire Department, the Lewistown Ambulance, the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Highway Patrol responded. 

• At 1:21 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire on Meadow Creek Road. The Hilger Fire Department responded.

• At 2:24 p.m. a 911 caller reported a vehicle went off the road through a fence and then got back on the highway heading towards Grass Range. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Highway Patrol were advised. 

• At 2:26 p.m. a 911 caller reported a grass fire on Joyland Road. The Lewistown Fire Department responded. 

•At 2:56 p.m. the Moore Fire Department was paged to a fire started by a lightning strike in the Snowy Mountains. 

• At 3:02 p.m. a 911 caller reported two fires on Brady Lane. The Winnett Fire Department and BLM responded. 

• At 3:02 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire on Dovetail Road. The Winnett Fire Department responded.

• At 3:09 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire on Old Cat Creek Road. The Winnett Fire Department responded.

• At 3:46 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire on Sandman Lane. The Winnett Fire Department responded.

• At 3:55 p.m. BLM reported a fire on Paradise Road. The Winifred Fire Department was paged.

• At 4:02 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire on Gavel Road. The Winnett Fire Department responded.

• At 4:16 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire north of Winnett. 

• At 4:39 p.m. Garfield County requested mutual aid for a fire at the county line. Dispatch advised Garfield County they had six fires in Petroleum County and were unable to respond.

•At 5:17 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire on River Road, but said they had it under control and did not need further resources. The Winnett Fire Department was advised.

• At 6:20 p.m. a 911 caller reported a fire on the east side of Crooked Creek. Garfield County was advised. 

• At 6:56 p.m. a 911 caller reported seeing smoke in the Giltedge area. The Cheadle Fire Department responded and didn’t locate a fire.

 

July 11

• At 8:29 a.m. a 911 caller reported the county commissioners promised to fix his road and it has not been done yet. Dispatch left a message for the commissioners.

• At 9:25 a.m. a 911 caller reported a flagger in the construction zone was threatening him. An officer responded.

• At 10:03 a.m. a person reported she had a suspicious male at her house who said he worked for Mid-Rivers. The person contacted Mid-Rivers and they advised the male did not work for them.

• At 11:40 a.m. a 911 caller reported a fire in the Chain Butte area. The Winnett Fire Department responded.

• At 12:42 p.m. a person reported his brother-in law-and sister were supposed to be home from Crooked Creek. Dispatch called the Marina and was advised the pickup with boat trailer was there, but no boat or individuals. The Petroleum County Sheriff and Fish and Game responded in a boat and Garfield County took a plane up. At 6:39 p.m. the individuals were located and rescued.

• At 11:13 p.m. a person reported she was chased into her house by a dog. Officers responded. 

 

July 12

• At 7:43 a.m. a person reported she could see smoke on the west side of Black Butte. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office was notified. 

• At 7:44 a.m. a person reported a combine header was tipped over on the Highway 200 side of the blinking light intersection. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office was advised.

• At 10:05 a.m. a 911 caller said she received a call from a friend in North Dakota who stated she was in fear for her life. The caller was given the law enforcement number and dispatch contacted the Williston Police Department and advised them of the complaint. 

• At 11:15 a.m. a person reported someone keyed her car. An officer responded and said something black was rubbed on the vehicle but it came right off. 

• At 1:11 p.m. a 911 caller reported two fires east of Winnett on the old Grantier place. The Winnet Fire Department was paged and responded. 

• At 1:27 p.m. a 911 caller reported an oversize load hit the side of his vehicle just west of the blinking light intersection. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Highway Patrol were advised.

• At 4:22 p.m. a person reported a suspicious elderly male sitting in his vehicle by the pool. An officer responded and spoke to the male, who advised he was a grandfather who had brought his grandchildren to the pool. 

• At 5:18 p.m. a 911 caller reported a small grass fire on the north side of the highway at about MM 9 on East Fork Road.  Heath Fire Department and the Fergus County Sheriff’s Department responded.

 

July 13

• At 12:03 a.m. a 911 caller reported he thinks someone just blew up his mailbox. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office was advised.

• At 9:02 a.m. a person reported a female throwing garbage in the irrigation ditch by Corcoran Street. Officers responded and spoke to female. 

• At 10:20 a.m. a 911 caller reported a fire at the end of Paradise Road, possibly by Salt Creek Road. The Winifred Fire Department responded.

• At 4:40 p.m. a person reported he doesn’t feel a social worker is being fair to him. 

• At 9:02 p.m. a person reporting it looked like a male was passed out in a black jeep with loud music playing. Officers responded. 

• At 9:30 p.m. a 911 caller reported a female was driving by and clipped his enclosed trailer. Officers responded.

  • At 9:59 p.m. a person reported a female was being rude to customers. The person had tried to get the female to leave the premises, but she was refusing. Officers responded.
