The following report is taken from information provided by the Fergus County Sheriff’s Department and does not represent the total scope of the sheriff’s department’s activity. All persons are innocent until proven guilty.

Sept. 21
• At 7:01 a.m. a man called in about an elk tangled in a fence.
• At 3:30 p.m. an anonymous tip came in about someone burning in a barrel at a Truck Bypass business. A deputy responded and issued one citation for violating Stage 2 fire restrictions.
• At 4:20 p.m. a resident reported someone had stolen beef out of his freezer. The man called back at 5:01 p.m. to add he had noticed all of his sleeping pills were also missing.

Sept. 22
• At 8:51 a.m. a caller stated someone was burning garbage. A deputy responded, and issued a citation for burning during Stage 2 fire restrictions.

Sept. 23
• At 8:18 a.m. someone reported a loon in distress at the Fergus County Fairgrounds. The caller added the bird had no tail feathers.

Sept. 26
• At 10:59 a.m. a man stopped by the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office to report a trespass. Two people he could identify cut the lock off a gate blocking a road accessing his property. The man saw the two people talking with his neighboring and stating they were going to cut the lock.
