Meeting Room use update

The Lewistown Public Library is privileged to offer a meeting space free of charge to our community. The meeting room space is an ongoing library service to our community and is utilized extensively.

Due to high demand and liability, the Lewistown Library Board of Trustees determined the upstairs meeting room policy required an update. Please take special note of the following important changes:

Groups or organizations applying to reserve the meeting room must complete the Meeting Room Use application for every single meeting reservation and receive director approval prior to desired meeting reservation. A meeting room schedule will be set up on a monthly basis. The meeting room is a public space and as a courtesy we request notice if a meeting room reservation is canceled so we can open the time slot to another group. Groups are not allowed to charge admission or use the space for profit. There is no charge for the meeting room.

Per Lewistown Public Library Public Meeting Room Policy: The Lewistown Public Library is a community gathering place for the sharing of ideas and information, of an educational, cultural or civic nature. The meeting room is available for library and general public use. The Library supports the right to assemble and the free discussion of ideas. Use of the meeting space does not imply endorsement or support the Library for a group’s activities or beliefs. The director and the Lewistown Library Board of Trustees reserves the right to approve or disapprove the use of meeting space.

Please contact KellyAnne Terry, Library Director for more details or if you have questions.
