Second grade student Bryar Taylor  is enjoying her first year at Grass Range.

Originally from Condon (north of Missoula), Bryar said she likes her new town and likes her new friends a lot. Her little brother, Colt, 4, is also getting the hang of it.

“We like being the new kids,” she said. “People have been really friendly.”

As far as hobbies go, Bryar said she enjoys going horseback riding with her parents. She also likes to play basketball. This time of year, she likes to go sledding in the snow.

“I went with my little brother this weekend,” she said. “My mom and dad went sledding, too.”

Bryar said she enjoys the winter. In fact, it’s her favorite season, especially when Christmas rolls around.

“I like December,” she said.

One interesting fact about Bryar is she really likes math.

“I like adding and subtracting,” she said. “I don’t really know why, but I find it fun.”

Even when she is not in math class, she likes to do adding and subtracting exercises.

She also likes to read and write. Her favorite book is “Little Red Riding Hood.”

“Reading is my favorite subject,” she said.

Bryar also likes to work on her handwriting skills.

“I like to learn how to write nicely,” she said.

Bryar also likes to have fun with her friends. She had a great Halloween.

“I was a vampire,” she said. “I’d never been a vampire before.”

But more than anything, Bryar said she is enjoying school. She enjoys it so much she wants to be a teacher.

“I want to teach third and fourth grade,” she said. “I don’t really know why, but it’s what I want to do.”
