“Fly Fishing in Australia” to be presented Nov. 16

 

The Snowy Mountain Chapter of Trout Unlimited is once again pleased to host a presentation by E. Donnall Thomas, Jr. “Fly Fishing in Australia” will be the topic on Thursday, Nov. 16, 7 p.m. at the Elks Clubhouse (320 Country Club Lane, in Lewistown).

Don is a local TU member and an avid angler, hunter, world traveler, writer and photographer. Please join us for what is sure to be an interesting and entertaining evening.

Big Sky Schoolhouse preservation meeting, Nov. 16

 

An informative meeting for those interested in preserving and helping document the one and two-room schools in our area will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room in the Lewistown Public Library. Free and open to the public.

 

Learn about autism evaluation Nov. 14

 

The Central Montana Learning Resource Center Cooperative will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Lincoln School in Lewistown. Items to be discussed include calendar items, concerns, correspondence, public participation or comments, and director reports on the collective bargaining agreement, case manager training, autism team and autism evaluation update, child count and private school count, and school delays/closures. Also to be discussed will be action items flow-through requests. This meeting is open to the public.

 

Judith Mountain Players to select plays, director

 

The Judith Mountain Players will meet Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 5:15 p.m. in the Meeting Room on the second floor of the Lewistown Public Library. Items to be discussed include selecting plays for the year and a director.

Author Wanda Rosseland to sign books Saturday

 

A book signing with Montana author Wanda Rosseland and her new book titled “Angels Among Us,” will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 1-3 p.m. at Keystone Bookstore in Lewistown.

American Legion Post No. 276 to meet Tuesday

 

Hobson American Legion Post No. 276 will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at City Hall. We have several subjects to discuss, including the upcoming Pitch Play event. Please attend and help with these plans. We need your input.

 

Library hours observe Veterans’ Day

 

In observance of Veterans’ Day, the library will be closed on Friday Nov. 10. Regular hours will resume on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

 

Wind and Strings to headline Saturday’s afternoon dance

 

Come and dance to the country band, Wind and Strings, at the Nov. 11, Saturday afternoon dance. The band features Tom Wilson on harmonica, Carole Songer on vocals, Barbara Burley on piano, Tony Hencil on dobro and Woodie Westburg on guitar and vocals.

The dance hall is located at the corner of Third Avenue South and Barnes Street. The dance goes from 2 to 4 p.m. Dancers of all ages are welcome.

There will be a coffee/cookie break at 3 p.m. There is a small admission fee.

 

Art Center to host second Social Night this month

 

While Social Night is held on the third Wednesday of the month, the Art Center will offer a second social night, on Friday, Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Reclamation presents water supply report for Bighorn Basin

 

The Bureau of Reclamation will present water supply conditions in the Bighorn Basin and discuss the agency’s proposed fall/winter operating plan for Yellowtail Dam/Bighorn Lake at a public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 16. Additionally, the Bighorn River System Issues Group will discuss operating criteria for Yellowtail Dam.

The meeting will be held at the Radisson Hotel, 5500 Midland Road, Billings, Montana, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding about 3:30 p.m.

Stakeholders and interested parties in both Montana and Wyoming are encouraged to attend the meeting and participate in the discussions.

Zetas to have presentation on Monday
