Montana pianist to play at Fergus Performing Arts Center

Critically acclaimed Montana pianist and recording artist Philip Aaberg will usher in the holidays with a community concert on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fergus Performing Arts Center.

He describes his High Plains Christmas recording and also his concert this way:

“The Christmas Eve of my childhood was full of wildness and excitement, wonder and reverence, peace and awe. Music was a huge part of that. The traditional carols live on for a very good reason, and I tried to re-imagine the melodies and go deeply into the lyrics to make them live anew. ‘Love and joy come to you…’

“And I hope that if anyone comes a ’wassailing in your neighborhood, you open your door and your heart to them,” said Aaberg.

In concert, Aaberg creates this sense of magic, from pieces like gospel “O Happy Day” to his original “Wild Rose of Christmas” and a wild take on “Jingle Bells.”

We hope all our Central Montana Community Concert Members will be able to come and enjoy this very special Montana Christmas event. New Memberships to CMMCA are still available.
