Singer Josh Snyder will perform New Year's Eve at the Spotlight.

Josh Snyder is “singing in the New Year” by putting on a concert to raise funds for the Fergus County Community Cupboard.

The event includes door prizes, free snacks, drinks, games and a live concert featuring Snyder, a local singer/songwriter set to release his debut album in April.

During the show, Snyder will perform several of his originals, which he said are a mixture of pop and hip-hop.

Local harpist Sarah Rice will also perform, sharing some of her own originals, as well as some of her favorite covers – seasonal and otherwise.

Those who plan to attend are encouraged to bring canned foods or non-perishable items to provide for the Community Cupboard.

“Go into the New Year giving,” Snyder said.

The event is family-friendly and open to all ages, Snyder said. It’s also DAD free.

“That’s drugs, alcohol and drama free,” he said.

Snyder’s event takes place at the Spotlight, which is located at 538 Sereday Street. It starts at 9 p.m. and goes past midnight.

“All are welcome,” he said, “and fellow local musicians are encouraged to perform, as well. Come on out, jam with me and sing in the New Year.”
