The following report is taken from information provided by the Lewistown Police Department and does not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are innocent until proven guilty.


Jan. 5

• At 9:48 a.m. a person reported someone shot out the windows on his garage door. Officer responded and spoke to the person.

• At 1:15 p.m. a 911 caller requested the phone number to Lewistown Propane. The caller was asked if she had an emergency. She said she just wanted the phone number. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office was advised.

• At 4:04 p.m. a person reported someone copied her phone number and called a friend of hers.  A male said something to the friend and hung up the phone.

• At 7:47 p.m. a 911 caller reported a female was knocking on her door and trying to speak to her. The person said she was not going to answer the door, as the person knocking was upset with her. The Fergus County Sheriff’s office was advised and responded.


Jan. 6

• At 3:16 a.m. a 911 caller reported she thought her husband took her prescription medication and sold it. Officers responded.

• At 5:12 p.m. a person reported he received threatening texts from a male. The person was told to stop by the station to speak with an officer about getting a protection order.

• At 6:44 p.m. a person wanted to know who called in reporting he abuses his dogs. The Judith Basin County Sheriff’s deputy was advised and would call the person.


Jan. 7

• At 12:36 p.m. a person reported seeing a female who matched the description of a woman Meagher County was trying to locate. Officers responded.

• At 8:21 p.m. a person advised he was en route to Lewistown, running late and was usually right on time. The person said he was having issues with his phone and would like dispatch to contact his friend, advise him the person was okay and running late.


Jan. 8

•At 11:05 a.m. a person reported counterfeit money. Officers responded.

• At 2:25 p.m. a person asked to know how to get a coat to a homeless individual in town. Officers spoke with the person.

• At 7:14 p.m. a caller requested to speak to Code Compliance regarding a vehicle she owns that was ticketed for parking illegally. 


Jan. 9

• At 3:31 a.m. a person reported a female sitting on the bench in the parking garage at the Movie Store. Officers responded and advised the female was a missing person Meagher County was attempting to locate.

• At 10:10 a.m. an officer arrested a male for a probation violation and transported him to the Fergus County Sheriff’s detention center.


Jan. 10

• At 6:19 a.m. Wheatland County dispatch advised U.S. Highway 191 from Harlowton to Eddies Corner was closed.

• At 1:45 p.m. a male was arrested on a Lewistown Police Department warrant and transported to the Fergus County Sheriff’s detention center.

• At 4:37 p.m. a caller reported multiple horses running loose on a city street. The owner of the horses was located and responded.


Jan. 11

• At 2:33 a.m. a 911 caller requested medical for a male who had lacerations on his hand after punching out a window. The Lewistown Ambulance responded and transported the patient to CMMC.

• At 3:19 a.m. a male came into the lobby requesting assistance with removing another person from his residence.

• At 4:42 a.m. the CMMC ER reported a possible DUI driver. An officer responded.

• At 12:46 p.m. the Postmaster requested extra patrol at night because transients were staying in the public area of the post office.

• At 7:20 p.m. a person reported she was willing to pay for a room for the homeless male here in town. Officers were advised and were unable to locate the male.
