Raymond Joseph Cox

Raymond Joseph Cox, 79, of Lewistown passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Central Montana Medical Center.

Raymond was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lewistown on Nov. 4, 1938 to Archibald Arthur Cox and Mable Isabel (Heggen) Cox. He graduated from Fergus High School in 1956.

He worked for his uncle, John Stanley, and on many local ranches during his young adult life. In the early 1960s he worked on the missile project and at the U.S. Gypsum Plant. Shortly after, he worked at Fabian Welding in Lewistown until 1970, when he opened his own welding business, “R” Machine and Welding.

In March of 1982 he married Holly Watson in Lewistown.

Raymond enjoyed the outdoors, family gatherings, farming and country

drives. He served the community for 46 years, welding, building, and designing various projects for the community and throughout the United States.

He is survived by his wife, Holly Cox; children, Rickie Dean Cox, Raymond Joseph Cox, Jr., Robert Arthur Cox, Randal Leland Cox, Reece Alan Cox, Robin Alena (Hughes) Cox, and Dustie Duran Williams; grandchildren, Daniel, Dallas, Devin, Aislyn, Liam, Justice, Landra, Aubre, Tobiah and Nekoda; great-granddaughter, Scarlet; siblings, Laurence Dale, William Leon, and Shirley Ann; and ex-wife, Rose Ingalls.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Archibald and Mable Cox; grandparents, Jabez and Eliza Cox and Iver and Thea Heggen; son, Rodney Gene Cox; siblings, Kenneth Arthur Cox, Richard Lee Cox and Eugene Alton Cox.

Graveside service will be held at the Forest Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, June 27, 11 a.m. A potluck luncheon will follow at the Schoolhouse; please bring your own chairs. Memorial donations can be made to the Forest Grove Cemetery, c/o Bobbie Cox.
